By Federal law it is not a firearm. Unfortunately, when dealing with UPS you have their "rules" to contend with.

The store front UPS stores are not officially owned by UPS but are a private company and they do not ship any type of gun. If you take it to an official UPS depot you can ship it there, at least that is the way I did it.

you are right jodum. call a main ups store and ask them how to prep rifle for shipping in your area. have shipped a few through ups MAIN store with no problem. make sure to get a tracking number. the kind of fun your having fullthrottle is fun nobody enjoys. hang in their its worth it:D
