I have been working out in WY. the last 7 months and while there I was looking at the local gun shop one day for a good deal maybe on something. As I looked threw several pistol display cases I came across a pair of mint 7.5" freedom arms revolvers both in field grade but with black macarta grips one 454 and the other in a 475 linebaugh. I asked to look at the 475 as I already load for it. After fingering it for sometime and finding out it had less than 20 rounds threw it I was pretty interested but I put it back, the price was 1130.00$. I went back several times to see if the gun was still there over the next 2 months (it was) an the price was still the same. Three weeks before xmas they had a big sale there at the store an the 475 was marked down to 950.00$, well that was all it took I brought it home and gave it a place to sleep and play with the other kids found over the years. Man what a sweet pistol the workmanship in these is great. so far I have shoot about 30 rounds threw it some 375 gr. and 425 gr. cast ,recoil is really not bad for a sledge hammer. I have ordered a 2X scope for it and will see how that fairs.

Keep us posted as to what it shoots best and pictures of 50 and 100 yd groups. (Please, no 25 yd stuff.) My friend has one and would appreciate what you find as he never has time to work on his.

Congratulations on your purchase at an excellent bargain price. I bought my first FA .475 in 1999, another in 2000, and added a third in 2002. They are truly excellent revolvers in an outstanding caliber. I've taken a number of boars, a couple of large bears, elk, bison, and buffalo with mine. The .475 is truly a world class cartridge, with adequate power and accuracy for anything.
