Hi guys

Im a bream tournament angler in WA- similar to bass style tournements in the states.

In 2006 I purchased a tracker pro team 175 tx with a 50hp outboard. Nice boat and way better than any Australian aluminum boat makers can produce. However Ive had a few troubles with the outboard and i have made the decision to upgrade it when i return from south africa in april. Some of you guys may have access to the tracker dealers better than me as I cant find their direct email, but Im wanting to know if I could go higher than the 75hp outboard limit whilst still under the 390lbs transom weight limit. Namely Im looking at a 90hp Evinrude e-tec. I keep getting mixed responses from people but cant get ahold of tracker in the US to find out exactly.

The 75hp and 90hp evinrude e-tec's are the same motor from what I can gather, just a difference in power via injectors or something I imagine. They are about 70lbs under the transom weight limit.

To add a bit more interest in the matter, trackers website state you can put a 75hp mercury 4 stroke on one, but this motor is from memory 9lbs over the transom weight limit.

If anyone has experince with the trackers I would appreciate their opinion on this one. Im thinking that being less in weight it will be fine as the extra power is only going to push the boat faster not tear off the back.

Cheers

Brad

Caught some nice smallmouth bass a week ago. According to the website it says that 75hp is max. This is on the 2008 web page for the 175 TXW.

Hi Brad

I have a good friend over here on the east coast who fishes the ABT in a skeeter.

He wants to put a 150 4/yammy on the back of his Skeeter..
It will be over the recommended hp rating, but skeeter said it should be fine...
But he can't get anybody to insure him:confused:,so just be careful if you go that way, that you can still get insurance..

P.S
I fish bass and bream over here on spin, baitcaster and fly.:D
