I have owned a M1917 for quite some time now, its my wife's gun. Only problem with it is that the barrel and cylinder are both pretty pitted from corrosive ammo/non-cleaning. I found a replacement cylinder and barrel on the Numrich website, but it would run about $350 for parts installation and blueing. Would it be worth it if it was your gun?

Considering that you can buy a real good used S&W in .45 ACP for not much more than that, I would really consider putting the old 1917 in semi retirement.
