Has anyone had their Marlin done with either of these coatings? I am thinking of having it done to my blued guide gun to improve it's weather resistance. I know the simple solution is to sell it and replace it with the stainless model and it is up for sell to do just that. So far just a lot of tire kickers and no buyers and time is starting to be an issue. In order to use it for spring bear season it will need to be sent off soon if I have one of the coatings done. Looking for pros and cons on either coating. Thanks for any help provided on this.

If your just worried about weather resistance, regular automotive car wax will help quite a bit. Up until the last 20 years or so weather resistant finishes and stainless steel were not very comon and rilfle did fine.

bsn,

Thanks for the feedback on this. A friend recommeded Johnson paste wax and it looks like it works judging by the condition of his guns. I'm just looking for a more permanent solution.

Thanks,
Boom
