For the 10mm fans - Colt is re-introducing the Delta Elite for 2008. The new version has a full-length guide rod, bull barrel, and fixed Novak-like sights. Only in stainless for now. Looks like a pretty cool 1911 and it's great to see the name again.

Seems as though there is a resurgence in 10mm lately - new DE, new Bren-Ten, S&W bringing back the 610, and Wilson's new Hunter 1911.

Also Dan Wesson is producing their 1911 / 10mm "Razorback" series, and Pointman 7 and Pointman Majors in 10mm.

It is good to see Colt back in the game.

Glad to see Colt getting back into the game. A little too late for me, as I have a Kimber, but I hope to see others appreciate the capability of the round. Look away from the normal ammo mfg's to see what it will do. I shoot my own ammo, but DoulbleTap makes the real deal. Cor-Bon does as well, but prices may be prohibitive for most folks who want to master the 10mm/1911 package.

The original ammo from Norma exceeds anything from the mainstream ammo mfg's by a large margin. DoubleTap and Cor-Bon match, and sometimes exceed, the original specs. If you are not shooting good 10mm ammo, you are shooting a .40 S&W. The difference is very substantial.

As to the DW's, they have been in the 10mm game almost since they introduced the 1911's...nothing new from that aspect. Pretty impressive pistols, from the two I have handled/shot.

The new "double eagle" from Colt might prove to be interesting....provided they can chamber it in 10mm. :)

Edited to add to the orginal post. It is very good to see the 10mm getting the appreciation. Kind of a parallel with the 5mm Rem Mag ammo being available again. I refer to good ideas that may have been ahead of their time.

Been wanting to get another 10mm for a while. My other Delta Elite has been lonely for a long time. If Colt puts a reasonable price on the new ones, they might be worth a look.

From what I can gather, the new DE will be pushing $1K when it's released.

I'm looking forward to this. I haven't owned a 10MM for a year or so, and old Deltas are not cheap.
I don't care for the bull barrel or FLGR, but beggars can't be choosers I guess.

I'm looking foward to the Vltor Bren Ten too. I had a Bren Ten Marksman Special model (45 ACP) and it was a neat design...if a little roughly made here and there. I have often wondered what a Bren Ten would be like if it had been better made. Maybe I will get to find out.
