Hey i am lookin for a good load for the 25'06 that is accurate out to 1000 yrds. i would like 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch groups at 100 yrds for a start. I have a load worked up for a 117 gr serria bullet but it is spitzer i am trying to find a load for the 115 gr nosler balistic tip but the best group i can find is 3/4 inch at 100 yrds. 49 grs of h4831sc and seated bullet 3.330 w/ fed 210 primer. Any suggestions/

Welcome to the forum Fitz. Rules are simple, be nice and join in.

could be your rifle is at it's peak accuracy potential. I don't know what your shooting but usually that kind of accuracy comes from specially built rifles designed for long range shooting (this usually means heavy guns with long custom barrels).

As for suggestions, again I don't know what your shooting, but below are a few suggestions.

Glassbedding
Piller bedding
Bench rest heavy stock
Shoot from a solid benchrest (concrete is the best)
Quality bench rifle holders
Shoot on days with no wind.

As well as the above mentioned enhancements or features on the gun itself I have a recipe that is an honest .300's load in my 25-06. The reason I recommend you this load is because it is also the 115 grain Combined Technologies Silvertip. A Nosler Ballistic tip with a moly-coating. High B.C. for a .25 and heavy enough to carry. This is MY recipe for MY rifle and you will have to build up to YOU'RE peak levels. I offer it as a place to start for you because I've tested other rifles with this load and it is a good one in all rifles so far, albeit every rig has it's own "best" load. I USE WINCHESTER BRASS, NICKEL PLATED IF POSSIBLE AND SORTED TO WITHIN 1/2 GRAIN WEIGHT PER BATCH. FEDERAL 210 MATCH PRIMERS. LEE COLLET NECK SIZER DIE, WHICH I BELIEVE TO BE A BIG INGREDIENT. LEE TRIMMER EVERY TIME FOR CONSISTENCY. ALLIANT ARMS ROLOADER 22 POWDER, 53.3 GRAINS. CT BALLISTIC SILVERTIP 115 GRAIN. SEATED TO 3.16". Again, this works for me but you will find you're own charge for these components. Starting loads can be found in many manuals for this powder and weight of bullet. Good luck and do let me know if you try this how it goes.

I'll second the Reloder 22, if you want to try a new powder. I got my very best accuracy from the Sierra 117 boat tail spitzer.

I'm with Bob, though - unless your rifle is a finely tuned specialty rig with high power/high quality optics, I'm not sure 1/4" consistently is realistic. Still, it never hurts to do what you can to get close...
