Does the "rainguard" feature on the Bushnell Elite scopes work as they claim. Also I would appreciate any other feedback about the 4200 Elite line. I'm considering a 3 to 9 x 40. I've been a leupold and Nikon user for a long time, but this rainguard feature intrigues me. This scope won't be mounted on a big recoil gun, it'll be on a .308 Savage Weather Warrior. Thank you

I don't know about the rainguard, but you might also check out the new Bushnell Ellite 6500's.

i have a couple of Elites and have hunted with them in wet weather. the Rain Guard feature works as advertised! you can mount a 4200 on just about any gun you want with out fear of anything happening to them. they are well built.

I have four Elites, all 3200 series. The Rainguard works as advertised. The 4200 series will be a bit brighter, a little heavier, & are just about bulletproof from what owners have told me. My advice is to flick a drop or two of water on one at your dealer ( assuming he'll allow it )
Leupold now advertises the rain free coating on their scopes. Check out their webpage.

If you try the 3200 or 4200 you'll probably put your other scopes on eBay. They are the best you can buy IMO.

I Live In Oregon And Two Seasons Ago It's Was Freezing Rain And Snow.a Buddy And Were In A Heard Of Elk At About 140 Yds And We Were Looking For Horns In Low Light Dusk Situation We Couldnt Keep Any Of Our Optics Clear. My Yardage Pro Raingefinder Was All That Could Be Seen Threw. Last Year I Bought 12x Elite Binos. And After Using All Year In Rain I Just Puchased 4.5x30 6500 Elite With Raingaurd For New 30-378..
