Winchesters have an easily adjustable trigger and a good rep for accuracy. The model 70 is being re-introduced this year with rifle's being built by FNH. and the Winchester company itself has never been out of business. I wouldn't look for the super short action and the wssm chambering s to be continued though.
That cartridge has had some real feeding problems in the Winchester rifles. Browning has about solved all those, but with that model Winchester you might run into it. That's about the only caveat I'd mention. You can still have older model 70's repaired by Winchester.
The 243 wssm cartridge probably will disappear eventually just as several other good cartridges have. If you buy it stock up on brass and you should be shooting for a long time. I haven't checked to see if Browning is still producing rifles chambered in that cartridge, but their the only one I believe. It happened to the 8mm Rem mag I shoot, but I've got cases and bullets to last for a bunch of years ahead. At this point cases and loaded ammo is still being made for it.
Factory ammo is expensive, the Winchester brass is not very consistant Federal brass is much better and less than half the cost. The WSSM cartridge does best with the heavier weight bullets and max powder charges. Sadly it looks like the WSSMs will be obsoleted in the near future as they just didn't sell well. Accuracy can be very good, I have a Winchester Coyote in .25WSSM that will shoot under 1/2" (.400") at 200 yards, with a better scope aI think it would do better. The trigger can be adjusted fairly easily, accuracy should be very good once you find the right load and the model 70 is a solid gun. Bottom line if you handload and want a 6mm round that will do it all go for it, if your planning on using factory loads you better pass unless you have plenty of money to burn.
