This is where I would go with any high end collectable.
Cruise the site and look at the prices realized and their consignment policy.
If you are not in a hurry watch the latest auction and wait for the prices realized to be posted.
Be certain to write down or save specific lot numbers you are watching as it makes it easier to search the prices realized list.

The last time I purchased a gun from Gunsamerica the seller had an asking price and we negotiated from there to a selling price. That seems fair to both parties. The seller and buyer having to agree.

If you're going to offer your Colt on an auction site, you had better know ahead of time what the minimum price that you will sell it for is and list that as the starting bid.

Also take into consideration any handling charges that these sites charge and adjust your price accordingly.
