Hello, I was hoping someone could give some advice on wether or not to purchase a dan wesson Model 15v,ss, 357mag revolver w. a 4"bbl and a 6"bbl along w/tool to change and cylinder gap tool and extra front sight w/box. I am no too familiar with Dan Wesson products other than I know this is an older model made in Monson ,Mass. I looked it over and it seems to be in time with no flame cutting in the topstrap, lockup is good. finish is a little dinged and scratched but not too bad. Does $275.00 sound a little cheap or is this the average price on this brand...? It looks rugged for a medium size revolver. The topstrap has just as much mettal as a Ruger if not more....any info on this is greatly appreciated.

I bought a new Dan Wesson .357 152VH back in 1978 for around $300. It is blue with a 6" bbl. I never bought a second barrel nor did I ever take the installed one off. It was an accurate gun (used it for shooting metal silhouettes at 200 yds). It is a well-built gun and never gave me any problems. I haven't shot it in 20 years, but I have no plans to get rid of it. I think $275 is a good deal for the gun and an extra barrel. I say go for it.

thanks mike...
I think I would be missing out on a good deal. I am going to pick it up . Let you know how it shoots when all said and done.

Sir,
Completely impressed with the accuracy of these guns, and I also did some long range shooting with mine. I did happen to get rid of my gun, as the trigger has a different feel to it, I expect that there are more parts in it than in the Colts and Smiths of old.
It didn't bother me when I was shooting at stuff, but I thought it would be a hinderance if I had to press it into service as a self defense piece, so I ended up trading it for a Smith. But, all in all, I think you have done very well.
Best to you, Sir.

That takes me back. I met Dan Wesson once at an NRA convention. Dan is one of those guys who always thought "outside of the box" and the 15 was no exception. Mine were accurate to a fault. Easy to shoot & maintain. It sure does not look like a Smith on either the inside or the outside. In short, a good example is a great gun. You should get good service out of it.
Oh yeah, make sure the cylinders are cut smooth. Some of them (one of mine) were cut rough and had to be replaced or hammer the cases out on mag loads. The price sounds good. Hope you can fire it first though.
