runs some of his ammo thru . he pronounces the gun unfit.. the seller was good and
gave me another new one..now im not sure what i can shoot in the gun..i cant figure how a gun shoots 357 ammo great then develops a problem with 38 ammo.. what dont i know about
this.. im dead on with this gun so i really like it ,,other than that.. any comments or input appreciated.. im going on a heavy shift of work for a few days so if i dont get back soon

These are basically a Smith and Wesson clone of the model 19 K frame and all the cleanup and polish tricks that work on a Smith work on the Rossi. Best I can say is have a gunsmith that knows how to clean up a Smith clean it up for you.
I have a Rossi 22 Revolver that I've been shooting now since 1996 and it's cycled thousands of rounds thru it with only one problem, my son dry fired it to much and broke the firing pin. Taurus, the owner of the Rossi name repaired it for free. The same lifetime, forever warrentee that is on the Taurus guns is also on the Rossi guns.
This revolver is a copy of the K frame Smith and they simply won't hold up to a steady diet of full power 357 ammo, your better off to shoot the 38's in them.
Here's the little Rossi 22. It's a clone of the Smith J frames and all the internals are almost identical.

thats makes sense bob and is pretty much what im seeing..ive been able to work the kink out of the gun,,and the action is pretty smooth again..the reason i opted for the revolver,
is im getting older and hoped this would be the simple free consealed carry for my doteing years.:)..i cant hit anything with 357 anyway but at 20yds a mugger is mine with 38+ps..
seems like im better with this than my pt22 which is what i always practiced with..
i plan on continuing to get to know the gun with 38s and if it does it again i ll send it back..
if i have to ill just keep sending it back until im satisfied..kinda wish id opted for
38 smith an wesson now tho.. never had any problem out of taurus guns before..
i guess its live an learn..thanks for the info .. slim

Slim I have two of Taurus's guns and am pretty happy with both of them. One is the Tracker four inch stainless 41 mag and the other is a 38 special snubby ultra-light that's rated for plus P's. I worked over the 41 as it's a K frame size gun also and the ultra-light was really smooth and tight as it came and I haven't touched it. It just disappears in a pocket holster in a front jeans pocket. I'm sure pleased with it and the little Rossi 22 I shoot.
I can't even begin to tell you how many bricks of 22 ammo have gone thru the Rossi. I load down the 41 so I'm hoping it will last for a while. It seems pretty tough so far, but is loud with factory loads with the porting.
