if u already know, i just bought a savage model 12 lpv, witha stainless barrel and since i cant find a stainless scope i can afford, wat is ur opinion on whether i should buy stainless rings and base or blued, the scope i picked out isnt real glossy bit its not matte black

Usually there isn't much of a price difference in rings and bases so it comes down to the look you like. If you plan on doing a camo job on down the road then I'd elect for plain blued rings and bases, but if you want to match the rifle then the stainless or silver colored make more sense. All my guns except handguns are blue steel and wood. I do have a black Aimpoint with silver rings on a stainless handgun and it looks pretty good. Here's a pix.

I have a Remington with a SS barrel. I use a black scope with black bases and rings. It just looks better to me than all SS. Plus, that is a heck of a lot of glare in the woods. I am not sure if it is enough to make a difference. I just like the black better.
