I've narrowed it down between 2 weaver style bases for my 629;
1) http://www.jackweigand.com/swhpmnt.html A Weigand base that will fit w/o any additional drilling/tapping. It's aluminum, but I've seen what aluminum can do these days and I'm not concerned that a .44 mag will stress or strain the base.
2)http://www.swfa.com/pc-11369-1744-warne-maxi-handgun-1-piece-base.aspx
Has anyone experienced this base? Is it true that you can really use the irons as well? I can't really tell from the picture, but I'm guessing some fitting would have been done.
Any experience on these two would be appreciated.
Many thanks
