can anyone tell me how well the B-square sidemount and barrel mount scope bases work? Are they worthwhile and does anyone have a pic of their installation, especially sidemount.
cheers!

Go here and look around before attempting to mount any type of scope. A scope proves terribly awkward on any '92. With the cartridge's limited range and the gun's top ejection, peeps can actually prove superior in speed and handling to scopes in this case. http://www.brownells.com/aspx/ns/store/ProductDetail.aspx?p=43&title=APERTURE+REAR+SIGHTS+%26+POST+FRONT+SIGHTS

sorry Blackhawk, didnt get email about your reply! I discovered the barrel is tapped for a mount, was hidden under the rear sight wedge. This is for a long eye relief sight, so avoids trouble with ejection.
I have the parts on the way now.

shark,
Are you installing a scout scope base on your Puma? I would be interested in pics.

Not sure what a "scout" scope base is?
I think it comes from the Puma factory as they are advertised here as a package-rifle base and 2.5 x 32 LER scope.
I will certainly post some pics, but it might be a few weeks away til I can as I work away at sea and leave tomorrow.
Is your rifle tapped under the rear sight? 4 holes but you cant see them unless you remove the wedge.

Shark,
A scout scope is mounted forward of the receiver and a long eye relief scope is used. Unfortunately my barrel is not tapped for this, but I am not sure I want to mount a scope on this rifle. I am thinking more along the lines of a tang sight. I want to keep it light and quick.
Have a safe trip. Fair winds and following seas.
