I put a Zeiss Conquest 3-12x56mm with a 30 mm tube on my Rem. 7 mm SAUM . The scope is absolutely as clear as a bell. My only problem is the reticle size. # 8 reticle. I was working up some loads and it was nerve racking. The target I was using had a bullseye that was 1 inch diameter. The crosshair completely covered the bullseye. I had to line up the verticle and horizontal lines at the corner of the target to be sure I was holding on the same point. I don't forsee a problem hunting but it sure is hard to check a bullet group with these big crosshairs.
Anyone else had this problem, and if so any advice?

Duck, take a 2 or 4" square target and set it up so the corners are at 12:00 3:00 6:00 and 9:00. Then use the corners of the target to line up the cross hairs.

Hope this helps

Somebody on the opticstalk forum put me on some free targets from www.targetz.com . I found a couple on there that had a pattern conducive to these thick crosshairs. Tried them out and was quite happy with the results. Free targets were nice too. They have a spot to record the group, bullet, powder charge, velocity etc. Nice seemed to fix my problem.
