I just bought a S&W 1917 that I would like to restore to original configuration. The major problem is that it now has a really cheesy set of copy S&W bakelite grips. Does anyone know where I can find a set of orginal smooth walnut grips? I tried eBay, but failed. I know.....

I was going to suggest Numrich, but they are sold out. A set of S&W grips isn't that tough to make, especially smooth ones. Get two thin slabs of walnut, and cut away everything that doesn't look like a pistol grip.

I believe this is an N frame gun and any grips that will fit the N frame will fit it.
