I just found this site a few days ago and immediately joined.

As I have been going through the different categories and reading the information, I just realized how much I miss my Dad. He was my introduction to so many things. The most special to us was guns and shooting.

I lost him as my "huntin' pardner" in 1995 and as my dad in 2000. I still have the old worn out Texan C press that we loaded so many pistol rounds when I was attempting to get into competition.

I still use the Rock Chucker that we did all our Rifle and target stuff on.

I have retired the MEC Super 250 Junior and am loading with A 9000 G.

As I read what you guys share, I remember the times around hunting camp, reloading bench, coffee pot, and the long drives to our out of state hunts. Man, we had the answer to any and all questions.

I am now attempting to get all my family interested in shooting and have passed on several of the guns to the care of my grown children. It is great, all I have to do now is find time and money. They clean the guns!

I moved to Iowa in 1995 and was very dissapointed in the lack of interest in my area over center fire. There are many great hunting folks here, but most are of the shotgun is OKAY ilk and don't see much of a need to go fast. (all generalizations are always wrong).

I just want all of you to know that I appreciate your information, banter and eagerness to share your knowledge with me and others.

It is a poor day when you can't learn something!!!

Thanks again, from the bottom of my heart!

Your welcome, we all face our losses and I for one thank God for the good memories of past times. My folks are long gone also and every once in a while as I look at the new generation coming up something jogs a good memory just like you mention above.

Here's my two grand daughters at the loading bench. Their one goal is to outshoot grandpa. The youngest one helped me put up over 500 220 Swift rounds today. I'm hoping that the memories of what we do stay with them long after I'm gone. Oh the hat says "Worlds Greatest Grandpa".

Yup, my grand children are still 3 and under but the oldest is learning the basics of what happens when the hammer falls.

It is good to talk to folks of like mind. Thanks to you administrators for the time and effort you put into this site.

Bob, my two are ages 5&7 and they are my best little buddies in the world, great help in the reloading room also.
Welcome Larry, feel free to teach us some new tricks also.
By the way guys I'm having to run on the generator tonight, but we missed the worst of the rash of tornados that cruised through our area this evening. We just lost electric power but many lost their homes.

Welcome to the best forum on the net. I lost my two best hunting buddies, my grandfather and dad when I was a senior in high school. I never lacked on hunting and fishing opportunities because of those two men. I really missed not getting to know them when I became a man. I hope to teach my four year old grandson the wonderful world of hunting and fishing as he grows up. I already have him several guns in the rack.
