Just read an article in Gun World about Accuload III software. Anybody out there use this? Are there better ones out there,or should I just stick to my old worn out reloading manuals?

Haven't heard of Accuload (must research that) but I'm currently doing an article reviewing internal and external ballistics software. I'm concentrating, so far, on Quickload and Load From a Disk for internal types.

The quick and dirty on those is that LFD is a bit simpler, easier to learn and does almost everything a reloader /shooter needs done. QL is MUCH more intricate and powerful, but is also more expensive. A reasonable analogy would be that LFD is a decent pickup truck and QL is a Hummer H1.

LFD is at loadammo.com with a fully functional trial sample (30-06 only in the sample) and QL is at neconos.com

Rocky,

This is probably a stupid question, but where and when can I find your article?

Well, I'm writing it for "The Varmint Hunter Magazine" which is by membership in Varmint Hunters Association. The when is impossible to say. I'm doing a SHOT Show review now for the July issue. I doubt I'd have the software review done in time for that, as here are other assignments in work, also.

Even after it's done and submitted, there's no guarantee that it'd be in the next available issue. Or ever, really. Magazines publish from one out of three to one of five articles they ACCEPT, much less of the number submitted!
