After my first trip to the range with my new Puma, I can tell my 46yo eyes would like a better site. I would like to put a Marble's tang sight on the rifle but am not sure with the barrel only being 16". Any one else using a tang sight on short rifle?

On a long barrel I'd say OK, but on that shorty, I would look at a Williams receiver sight. I use and like both types but believe on your shorty the tang would interfere with its handling.

That is kind of my thoughts as well. For some reason I have a hard time drilling a hole in the receiver. I don't feel that bad about drilling into the tang. I took off the sights on my Marlin 45/70 and put them on the Puma. I liked the look. So I ordered a new front and rear sight. The dovetails are not right but I think with some solder and a file I can make them work.
