Hi Everyone...

I friend of mine has a Winchester 9422 for sale and I thinking of buying it. The really odd thing though about the gun is that it's in a combo I've never seen before..

For starters, the gun has what appears to be a nickel plated reciever and a WinCam stock. Also the gun has the labeling "1 of 300" on the side of gun too....

I could be wrong about the nickel and the reciever might be stainless...

Question:

Did Winchester ever make a 9422 with Nickel or Stainless recievers?

Is so, does anybody know why this gun would be 1 of 300????

Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciate since I have spent the better part of an hour trying to research this rifle online...

Thanks for your time..

It sounds like a special run by Winchester for a Distributer.

I have a 9422 that is nickel plated and has - special edition 1 of 300 - on the barrel. The stock is wood that is gray in color. I wish I kept the box. I bought it in Grand Junction CO.
I'm going to be pissed if it isn't an original.
Let me know what you think.

I believe cole k is on the right track. Winchester, along with other firearm makers, have made "Special Runs" for distributors. Is there anything different about the serial number? I have three 9422's that were made as a Special Run for CDNN in Texas. The serial numbers all begin with "TEX".

You probably shouldn't post your entire serial number here or elsewhare on the 'net. But if your rifle has a prefix to the serial number, it may be indicative of who the rifle was made for.
