Was wondering what people use to reload their 308's. At the moment I'm useing AR2208 powder and 125 grain Spitzer Nosler Ballistic Tip. I use it to hunt pigs.

I like 150gr. Bullets for Mule deer on down to general yote/rockchuck work. I step-up to 168-175's for bi-pod work when I want to clang the 1000 yard gong. 150-155's will hit the 900 yard gong fairly regularly, but won't get past.
I like Varget, and BL-C(2).

The 308 was designed for 150s. Feed it any reasonable powder and it will make you smile. You can handload it from a cat sneeze to a Hammer of Thor with hardly any effort at all. It is an achievement to handload poorly! It will win at benchrest competition, at silhouette competition, and will bring home any game from mice to moose. It is, quite simply, the finest cartridge for the Lower 48 ever designed.

Rocky about nailed it. I'm a magnum fan, but bought a 308 for my grand daughters first deer rifle and she can shoot coyote's to elk with it. I'm loading H414 behind a 150 grain bullet in it.

Thanks Bob, was wondering how many grains of H414 do you use. My reloading book hasn't got it listed in it.

W-748 and IMR-3031 are also dandy 150 gr. powders. ;)

I'm a big W 748 fan too.
As accurate as anything, and a dream to use as it meters so well.

RL15 and 150 and 165 grain bullets are working very well for me.
