At the risk being drummed off the forum, what do people think about the he Tasco World Class scopes?

I have a friend who is selling a 1.5x4.5x32 for $35.00 and I am wondering if it would be O.K. for a 30-30?

It seems like a pretty nice scope and it wouldn’t be used on a regular basis, most likely, a few times a year. I know it’s cheap but I really don’t want to spend a bunch.

Tasco went downhill for a while, but after Bushnell bought them out, the quality has went back up rapidly. As far as the cost, who cares? If you like it and can see well out of it, that's what matters!

I've got one of the old Japanese 8 by 32's I bought for 75 bucks at a pawn shop that is just excellent. It's a target dot with the fine cross hairs and has been on everything I own for accuracy testing from an 8mm Rem mag to my 204 Ruger.

My 30-06 ADL has an old 4 x 12. Still works well and is as clear as when I bought it 28 years ago

You might want to find out where it was made. The reputation seems to go up and down depending on the country of origin for that brand.

A .30-30 is about as gentle a big-game centerfire as you can get. For the money it sounds like you really couldn't go wrong.

I think the Tascos are made for Bushnell in China but they really aren't that bad. Some of the better known brands have models made in China the quality is better now than it used to be, so on a 30-30 you probably would be ok.

Back in the day when all I could afford were Tasco scopes, I bought them (Japan made) and thought they were great. Only problems encountered was keeping the decals stuck on the turret blocks.

Since then, I've traded up or bought new, and tend toward the Leupold or USA made Burris scopes. Still have a few Simmons ATEC, BSA Platinum and Nikon Monarch's, but they are in the minority.
