Here is a link to check how your state representatives are voting your rights with regard to the Brady Campaign to eliminate gun ownership.

Springer, thanks for the link. That's the sort of thing we need to focus on with the coming election.

Gotta be proud of my boys here in Tennessee. Lamar Alexander and Bob Corker are good friends to the gun owners here. 0% support to the Communist uhhhhhh Brady campaign. Even the democrats in the State Senate are gun friendly. Makes me proud of Tennessee. Now we need to get states like Illinois and California on board.

Sorry to say in Oklahoma the only support for gun control comes from a Republican . Hmm 14 years of Republican control in Washington and gun control marches on , who's side are they really on .

Which 14 years are you referring to? The presidency has been Clinton (8), Bush (7), and the House and Senate have been in varying control of both?? And, can you name the party affiliation of the all those in the judicial branch?

C'mon BillyJoe, your posts are showing quite a bias, which isn't a bad thing, unless they're erroneous.

I wasn't talking about the President I was talking about the House Of Reps and Senate Which were under control of the Republican party for almost all of the Clinton and Bush Presidency. They are the ones who draw up and pass laws . The President only has the choices of signing , veto or ignoring in which case the bill becomes law by default.

OK, guys - the best way to get a thread locked or deleted is to bring in politics. Let's let the original posting have sway here.

Best to call a truce on this BillyJoe.

The link in post #1 provides some good info when evaluating candidates on their past voting record with respect to gun issues. The difficulty is in evaluating new candidates that don't have a voting record. Many have gone silent on the gun issues since it's been a loser due to the considerable number of gun owners. Some dance around the issue. Some come right out and profess support for the second amendment as an individual right. It's the ones that are silent and the dancers that we have to watch out for. As well, as informed voters, we have to keep track of what a candidate says before they were elected, and what votes they cast, after they're elected, regardless of party affiliation.
