Looking for a steel replacement for the cheap plastic magazine follower in my Rossi M92, I found that they are as scarce as hen's teeth! However, I discovered that a steel mag follower for a Marlin 336 is a perfect replacement.

Marlin has gone to plastic for this part, too, so steel ones are not as easy to find as they could be. But Brownells has stainless steel followers that are really nice -- a bit pricey at $20, but slick and beautifully made.

A bit of a modification to the above -- the 336 follower is right for .44 or .45 M92s, but the .357 may require the slightly smaller follower for the .357 Marlin 1894. Don't know for sure, haven't tried one.

Do you have a Brownells part #?

Part #100-000-777 is the stainless 336 follower.

The Brownells website says that part has been dropped. :(

An alternative might be 981-000-012, the Wild West aluminum follower for the .44 1894. I'd prefer steel, but aluminum is better than plastic, IMO.

Thanks, I think Midway lists the SS ones but they are on backorder. Not as cheap as Brownells, 18.99 but its only a couple of bucks off. I think I will get one for my 1895.

Also try WinchesterBob.com. He has a lot of stuff for all lever actions of
Winchester and clones. Another source to consider !
