I changed out the sites on my Puma this weekend. I ordered a Marin 94 rear and a taller front site with brass pin for the front. With the dovetails not being the same size a little solder on the bottom of the dovetails and some filing they fit well.

I made up some loads using Hornady Xtp 200 grn bullets. I used H110 for the hot and Unique for the lite loads. Accuracy at 25yrds was excellent with both. H110 loads clocked 1730fps and Unique ran 1400fps. I was pretty impressed with the velocity of both loads considering they were both on the low end. The Unique loads were very pleasant to shoot. The H110 loads had noticeably more kick but still weren't bad.

Sorry, 44 mag. I haven't had a chance to work it out at 50 or more yards. This weekend I am going to lap the bore with the BTB bore lapping kit. I also have some BTB 250grn bullets to work up loads.

Tell me about soldering the rear sight dovetail. Did you fill in the dovetail or build up the bottom of the new sight?
Thanks,
Danny
