if it is still not in court this year when november rolls around i will get teh chance to go wolf hunting in MT for the proposed season, the ranch i can hunt we see wolves on almost every day, i was wondering what kind of caliber you would use, a 204 or use a 30-06 FMJ to preserve fur and get the forceful knockdown (i know everyone has experience wolf hunting, but what gun would u use)

Well, those of us who have had absolutely no experience "hunting" wolves like something that packs a wallop. I wouldn't know from hunting experience, but I've heard tell (I'm not sure if there were others around or just voices like the ones you hear in your head) that your normal elk or bear gun does a fine job.

Never wolf hunted either, but would suppose a .243 Win would make a dandy wolf cartridge.

Legal Min where I live is .22 Centre fire never hunted them meself however
