I have a Burris 4-12x Laser Scope sitting on the bench, and a Rem Mod 700 SPS 243 Win on the way. Only thing missing is the base mount.

Looking at Midway, one-piece mounts range from $15 for a Weaver mount, to $150 or so for several other manufacturers, and various ones in-between.

Two-piece mounts (not correctly 'picatinny', but Weaver-style) range from $6 to something over $100.

Can anyone offer their experiences with various Weaver-style picatinny base mounts for the Rem 700, and if I'm lucky enough, specifically with the Burris Laser Scope?

My first impulse is to go with a one-piece to get more forward/backward adjustment in the scope position, but wondering if anyone has any recommendations, whether one or two-piece, and in manufacturer's. Thx.

The only two bases that I am familiar with is Badger and Evolution Gun Works. Badger makes a superb steel MilSpec base while EGW also makes a superb aluminum MilSpec base(and much less expensive). Both can be had from 0MOA to 20MOA. I have no experience with the Burris laser scope.

Thx ghillie. I recall that Badger was on the upper end of pricing at MidwayUSA, but probably worth it. Even though this isn't going on a hard kicker, I want to go with something that is durable and won't get knocked out of alignment too easily, and for which someone can provide some positive feedback. Thx for the feedback.

I'm not familiar with "0MOA to 20MOA" bases...but I assume these are for tilting scopes off of bore alignment for really long range shooting?

Badger, Nightforce, or Seekins are excellent quality in the Picitiny rails and rings. With the Seekins being the best bang for the bucks...
