Anyone know where I can get some 700 gr. bullets for a 500 Smith & Howitzer? My buddy wants me to load some for him and he is set on a 700 gr. bullet.:eek:

i shoot 700gr at 1350fps bullets out of my 500 raging bull 10 1/2 barrel and would sware that it has less recoil than my hot 44mag 325gr 1350fps also out of a eaa bounty hunter 4 5/8 barrel.there was a guy from alaska on ebay ranger rick that sold 700grs that is where i got mine.

What powder/charge weight are you using? What kind of accuracy are you getting at 50 yards?

GSPKurt, you can order the bullets from Ranger Rick, I have shot them in my 4 inch S&W and my 6 inch BFR. Yes they are a handful, but I have never imbedded my handguns in my forehead. The only way anyone would do that is if they never shot a 500 Mag and held the gun improperly.

I am using 25.0 gr of H 110 with the 700 gr. bullets. I shot mine at 25 yards and they were very accurate from both of my 500 Mags, I am going to go to the range soon and will be doing some 50 yard shooting with them.

i use a big dose of lil gun. have not tested for 50 yards but 25 i can shoot off hand with all holes tuching.

Holy smakaroonies!!!! that is almost as big as the 50-140 express load!

I hate cliches, but i gotta say that is a true hand cannon in the sense of the phrase.
