I was wondering if anyone out there has cast this bullet or has any info for loads or thoughts on this bootlit. I was in a local gun shop and found a new 429303 collecting dust on a shelf, with top punch included for 40$ couldn't pass it up for that price. Thanks:)

Congratulations on your buy. According to my reference, that's a .44 cal., 200 gr. ,spire point, gas check bullet for either .44 Special/.44 Magnum. I have not cast this bullet but with the gas check, it should shoot just fine at magnum velocities.:)

I used to have that mould.I still have a few bullets left, lubed with a gas check.I shot them with 24 grs. of 2400,the load is out of Lymans #47.1800 fps out of a 14 inch Contender,1550 out of my 6 inch 629.They shot pretty good. They cut nice perfecticly round holes in paper,at 15 yards. They put really, really impressive dents in 1/4 in. mild steel plate.Especialy out of the Contender. In the old Lyman #43 or #44 reloading handbook they was an article about this bullet. They used more 2400 in a Smitt&Wesson I think, than I have the b@!!$ to use. They were shooting it through 3/16 in. plate at 25 yards I think.#43 was from the late 50's,#44 was from the 60's.My copys desintigrated.
