I saw this on the shooting wire today and thought it was perfect to share here. I was involved in the Royal Rangers program when I was younger, even though I didn't atttend a AOG church and I thought it was a great ministry. I am glad to see the NRA supporting them.

Headquartered in Springfield, Missouri, the Royal Rangers is a worldwide movement of the General Council of the Assemblies of God, and the Partnership in Progress Award is the highest honor that is bestowed to an organization by the Royal Rangers. The organization is designed to provide boys with various activities while providing them with religious instruction.
The National Rifle Association is the first group to receive this prestigious award. The Royal Rangers created the award to recognize those organizations that have played a major role in furthering a specific Royal Rangers agenda or program.
'We believe the National Rifle Association is a vital reason that we have been able to reach many of our shooting sports goals initiated in 2001 and 2002,' said the Rev. Douglas Marsh, National Commander of the Royal Rangers. 'We value our partnership with the National Rifle Association. We believe that shooting sports and shooting safety are an important and vital option to our members, and as we set new goals of expanding our National Shooting Sports Program exponentially, we hope to continue to partner with the NRA. We expect a great future in the shooting sports.'
Since 2001, the NRA has provided guidance to the Royal Rangers in merit development, shooting safety education, and individual skill development. The NRA has also assisted in promoting competition and in sponsoring the Royal Rangers National Championship in postal format and at the 2002 and 2006 Camporama. The NRA Foundation has supported the Royal Rangers national office, districts, and local outposts by providing funds to purchase shooting sports equipment.
'The NRA strives to offer many opportunities for young people to learn about and enjoy the shooting sports,' said NRA President John C. Sigler. 'NRA's partnerships with organizations like the Royal Rangers have enabled us to positively impact the lives of our future leaders.'
