Ben's Gun Shop in Owego, NY

Mike is the owner, he runs the shop out of his house that he bought from his grand-father (Ben), been in business for 65 years.

He keeps a good cross-section of popular guns on hand and is very reasonably priced.

He also has reloading supplies which is much to my liking.

1000 primers for $19-$23 depending on type. Bullet prices are very reasonable, even comparing them to on-line sale prices, but he only sells powder by the keg. The powder is reasonably priced, on the order what you can get from Powder Valley.

He gave me an honest assessment on a couple of guns I'm interested in selling and told me how to get the most money for them.

I can order the gun I want at dang near Walmart pricing.

What a breath of fresh air from Gander Mountain.

I will definately be doing business with him in the future and he is only 20 minutes from my house. :)

I have a guy like that Flash. Just firearms though. Small business. He sells from home. Works the gun shows mostly. "If I want it, he can get it" in pretty short order. Price is allways right there. "Trick is" to know what you want BEFORE you order it! All it takes is an e-mail. I like him.

When "the firearm" arrives, I get there muey pronto so he gets his money.

I deal with a guy 15 miles from my house on reloading supplies. He gave up his FFL so no more guns ,but he is my go to guy for power, primers and bullets. Everytime I go out there he has to show me all of his guns ,some I like very well indeed. Good to have someone you can trust. Q:)

Iowaloha Octrader, Nice to meet ya.
Sorry. Can't help you that way on the web. Is a "personal security" issue with me that way. I suspect that my FFL dealer would feel the same about me posting his e-mail address on a public forum like this one. He does not have a website or I would post a link to that.

I lived in East Grand Forks for a time and enjoyed it there. I followed work and ended up here in Iowa.

Look around where you are. Firearms dealers are very competitive anymore. The guy with the lowest "overhead" can offer some purdy good deals.

I am very satisfied with my favorite sporting goods store. It's the Thruway Sports Shop,in Walden,N.Y.
Some years ago,I bought a semiauto shotgun. The gas port in the barrell was a misshapen hole, although the action worked flawlessly. He exchanged the barrrell with one from a different box, right on the spot.
Yesterday,I bought a scope for my new inline muzzleloader. He helped me make my selection, being careful to show me only ones that fit the description that I gave him.I bought a Simmons 2X,and he found the corresponding flip up lens covers for it.
When I tried to mount the scope,I discovered that it would not fit my Wolf rifle. There was only 4 1/2 inches behind the turret;I needed 5 1/2 inches,at least.
I brought it back this morning, and a second Sales person went through the whole process again. The 1.5X-5X variable Simmons has 5.5 inches behind the turret, and filled the bill.Once again, business was conducted on the spot, and now,I'm hapy as a clam.
