Yep, it was Mr. Clemens.  There is nothing wrong with statistics though.  Used appropriately are a great tool.  Bad use of statistics and data mining are where the problems occur.  The networks, and most special interest groups data mine to get their statistics to "fact up" their point of view.  It is wrong and fraudulent.
