What mfgr. of brass has been the most durable with your full house .44 mag loads? I'm buying more brass, but want to invest in the brand that will take the most reloadings. Current brass is WW. And where is the best place to buy brass? Midway's shipping seems high to me.

I have used several different types of 44 mag brass, WW, RP and Fed and can't tell much difference. I last ordered Starline from Midway. It was a lot more reasonable priced and seems to be of excellent quality.

About 8 years ago I settled on Starline for all my handgun brass, 44 mag included. I have never regretted that.
However, I never had a problem with WW 44 brass. Hot loads and all, no problems. Remington brass, in my experience, did not stand up to repeated mag pressures. Remington brass in 44 mag is thinner than the WW or Starline. I do not think it's an issue with new or once fired loads but after that I would only use it for light loads. My son has been shooting 44 Special reloads with Reminton brass for many years and never had a problem. Of course the pressure is a lot lower.
In short, I'd go with either Starline or WW in 44 mag. I have no experience with Federal 44 mag brass.

I reload for my Ruger M-77/.44 Mag. and I like PMC Brass the best as it is heavier constructed then Remington or Winchester, which is the lightest of the three. I had several PMC cases loaded up with 23.5 grs/H-110/240 gr. Hornady XTP .430" bullets and also some Remington cases. The PMC shots grouped right on @ 75 yards while the Remington grouped about 1.3" below where the PMC's grouped. My guess is that the velocity was a bit lower in the Remington Cases than in the .44 Mag. PMC cases. I am going to up the load of H-110 in the Remington Cases to around 24.0 grains to see if this will bring up the bullet @ 75 as I am receiving in the PMC cases. With the Winchester cases I really don't have that many as I have mostly PMC's & Remingtons.
I use Rem and Midway .44 mag brass interchangeably in my Ruger Super Blackhawk. I use only 250 hard cast LSWC's with 24 gr. H-110 and 240 Nosler JHP's with 24.5 gr H-110. Fed large mag. primers (155) are preferred. Never had any pressure problems and accuracy is good. Chronos near 1400 f/s from that 7 1/2" bbl. 1-1 1/2" groups from a sand bag rest @ 25 yds.

Starline is probably the least expensive. I've used several different Cases over the years and really can't tell much difference.
i don't do .44 magnum but i do reload .357 magnum and i too have lots of different headstamps... most of my .357 mag is federal nickel plated because that's what i could get factory loaded so i kept it... most of my .38 spl brass is ww because that's the brass i decided to buy once fired from gun shows to kinda keep it all the same.. i even have some brass with my first name on the headstamp! midway was selling it a few years ago so i got some just for giggles... seems like all the brass i've used is just about equal in quality execpt that the plated federal brass seems to split sooner at the case mouth... it is also the most .357 mag brass i have so pressure is probably a factor... i'd say just pick any brand and load it right and it will do ok by you....

Starline has beat the brands I have tried. I have never tried Federal.
