I have two of this gentleman's books, "I Don't Want To Shoot An Elephant" and "Jaybirds Go To **** On Friday". Both are wonderful reads. Havilah is an English Professor at University of South Carolina (I think), a quail hunter, bass fisherman, and a true gentleman of the Old South. His writings are very descriptive and you will swear to hear the pine needles under foot when stand after reading either of these two books. Similar to Nash Buckingham, but much more down to earth, and isn't writing strictly about hunting 100% of the time, he deserves a spot in every hunter's library. Both books are highly recommended. Must haves.

Well, distinguished is as distinguished does... he relates the tale of his dad or granddad trying to teach him how to eat raw sweet potatoes while chewing tobacco (gotta keep the two seperate or bad things happen). I think he gave up on that after swallowing the stuff in the wrong check once too often. :D
