I'm the proud new owner (and finally possessor) of a .308 Win BLR Takedown! Next step - putting some optics on this bad boy (I might have to sight in and shoot the postal match first).

On to glass (I'm sure UncleNick or someone will move this if it needs to be in the other forum, but I have something of a mechanical quetion that is specific to the lever gun).

Over on opticstalk I had a guy who owns a BLR tell me that he had a problem with the rings being spaced too far for a Nikon with a 32mm objective with standard bases and rings. I measured between the screw centers and came up with a 3.5mm spacing. Has anyone else seen this as a problem? I want to either put an IOR 4x32 or a Nikon Monarch 2-8x32. Will this be a problem?
