So how do you use lube alox. What is the procedure for lubing the bullet with this. If I were to cast 38 cal 158 gn pistol bullets how many could I expect to lube with 1 bottle.

the liquid stuff lubes a whole lot of bullets. Don't need much, just a thin coating, so I'd expect one bottle to last for 400-600 bullets (depending on a whole lot of things).
Basically you just squirt a little bit into a lidded plastic container (the size whipped butter comes in is just fine), dump in your bullets, rattle them around a bit to get them covered, take them out (tweezers are good...so is a hemostat), and sit them base down on wax paper to dry. Do not need to fill the lube grooves, just git a thin coat all over the bullet.
IF you mean the stick lubes that go into a luber sizer, how long it last depends on how deep, wide, and the diameter of the lube grooves it has to fill....whol lot more volume for a .45-70 multi groove bullet than in a .224" single groove bullet.
What was said about Alox above........use allot less than what you think you need, heating it up helps keep it thin.

if you are going to size then thin it down some with mineral spirits, coat, dry size them
then lube them full strength.

If your talking about Lee's liquid Alox then everyone is giving you good advice. Lee's liquid Alox and their sizing system is an excellent system and once I started using it my old Lyman Lubra-sizer went down the road.
Keep in mind that Lee's cast bullets designed for tumble lubing are designed to be shot without sizing and usually just need lubed before loading. I've been using Lee molds, melt pots, liquid alox and the Lee sizing system for lots of years now loading for 38/357, 40 S&W, 41 mag, 44 mag and 45 Colt.
Lee also makes a lot of standard bullet molds that can either be sized with standard lubes and systems designed to apply lube to the grooves or simply swirl lube with the liquid alox.
Here is a link to check out Lee's sizers, lubes and bullet molds.
