i mounted my new tru-glo scope on my 1022 custom last night and tonite when i was kinda checking it out the crosshairs are nice and crisp i didn't have to focus the eye piece a bit... however when i looked through the scope and dry fired my rifle the crosshairs visible jumped in the reticle... i thought it was kinda wierd so i did it several more times and they jumped every time... did i get a bad scope?:(

DEFINATELY !!

If the reticle moved inside the(in relation to the)scope it needs to be returned after a phone call to Tru-Glo. -----pruhdlr

The cross hairs shouldn't move when you dry fire it, but I'd take it to the range and see what it will do with ammo in it. It may be that the whole rifle is moving when you dry fire. Shooting will tell the story. Dry firing or even firing with 22 ammo doesn't put any stress on a scope.

If it's bad then you need to return it to the factory or where you bought it. There will be some kind of warrentee on a new scope.

Set it on a sandbag and look through it while you tap it lightly with a rubber mallet you have wrapped a couple of soft rags around. If that moves it, you need another scope.

i dry fired the rifle with it in my hands and hands resting on a solid surface and the crosshairs stayed steady as a rock... tried it several times and not a movement! i guess just shouldering the rifle was the difference... whheeeewww.... i'm glad i really like this scope and really didn't want to send it back in..... now to get to range and sight it in!
