I have a Win 94 made in 1967. I am just getting aquainted with this gun as I have always had Marlins in the past.

Some have told me that this gun should hold 5 in the tube and some say 6. I can only get in 4.

I'm not a 30-30 lever guy and haven't owned one for near 50 years, but the easy way to find out is just put cartridges in until no more will fit. I would imagine it depends on if you have a carbine or a rifle or one like the model 64 with a short magazine.

Hopefully some of our resident lever gun guys here can help you out.

If it is a standard 20" barreled 94 carbine, it holds 6 in the magazine. A 16" trapper should hold 5 rounds. I have no idea what the half magazine or button magazine rifles capacity is. Are you loading one round almost completely in, then pushing it in with the next round so the loading gate does not shut? If the loading gate shuts, it can make it very hard to load more than a few rounds.
