I traded for this thing a month ago but only recently picked up the scope mounts, rings, and dies, so I could shoot it. Not a good pic but here is what it looks like. Kimber Longmaster Classic - 223 Remington with Redfield 3-10x50mm scope, Leupold mounts and x-high rings.

I bore sighted it yesterday and took it to the range today with a batch of range pick up brass handloads (Lee 1.9cc Dipper Cup of Varget [26 grains] and 55 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip bullets seated to SAMMI OAL).

At 40 yards the first 3 shots made one tight hole an inch to the left of center and two inches high. A quick adjustment of the windage adjust on the mounts put the vertical line in proper position. I backed up to 100 yards and was off the 6" target (high), another adjustment to the horizontal cross hair put it back to one inch above the 10 where 3 consecutive shots made one ragged hole. I moved back to 200 yards and a 5-shot group 3/4 inch above the 10 could be covered with a quarter.

To say I am happy with the first-time-out results is an understatement. The gun is well balanced and the trigger is very nice.

A classy looking piece flashole - I reckon it wont be long before I seriously consider getting one as a sister gun to my .308.

That is a fine looking setup flashhole. I'm glad you have had a good experience with the Kimber thus far as I've heard quite varied reports. A friend has in the last year gotten a 260 and 7mm-08 (for his upcoming hunting daughters) that can't seem to hold 2" to 3" groups so he's sent them off to (I think) Hill Country Rifles to have them accurized. Would be disappointing to me in a $1000+ rifle to have to do that.

Another friend that was along with him shooting that day was turning out 1/2" groups from both his Rem 700 30-06 and Rem 700 280 Rem couldn't get better than 2.5" groups either, so it wasn't the shooter.

They sure put some nice wood on those rifles.
