I wrote some time back about wanting more accuracy with heavier bullets and one fellow in particular wrote and gave me some great ideas and some inspiration. Because of that post I started loading 168 grain loads in my .308 police rifle from Savage. I have no idea why Savage calls it that, since it is basically a Model 110 with a heavy barrel and a few added goodies. I did use it for groundhog hunting, only. Now I am using it for groundhogs and coyotes and coy dogs.

But I digress, my new loads with the Competion 168 grain Sierra International HP bullet are great! So she will shoot both light and heavy bullets now. Matter of fact she will now shoot 165 grain Sierra IMHP bullet as well. I've had these bullets aroung forever and gave up after the Federal match loads ( factory) would not group tighter than 1 inch. Thanks to the reply from that one member she now shoots both of these under 1 inch, usually under 3/4 of an inch.

I am now reloading some new loads with a different powder ( same bullets) and Federal primers and I am hoping to break the 1/2 inch barrier. BTW, I have also changed scopes ( still with a Mil-dot reticle) and set on 16 power, but it is much clearer and better than my old one. Quality does cost more though. Thanks again for the help!
