Well I went and did it again and added another big bore to the collection .
I actually bought it last year but just got around to taking any pictures.
It is a 500 CYRUS .
It is a blown out 416 Rigby necked to .500 DIA .
I push MY 700 GRAIN WFNGC at Vel 1850 , here are a couple loads that has been worked up .

700 Grain WFNGC 70 Grains H4895 Velocity 1850
610 Grain LFNGC 73 Grains H322 Velocity 1940
420 Grain FNGC 83 Grains H322 Velocity 2280
325 Grain Barnes XPB 88 Grains H322 Velocity 2600

Being this rifle is so light ( 8.5 ) all of these loads have a wallop indeed !!!
But it hurts so good !!!!!!!!!!
The rifle holds three rounds in the clip .

Here are two pictures of some loaded 700 and 610 grain bullets .
This rifle has put a few smiles on big bore junkies ......
My wife thinks I am compensating for something since all my firearms are big bore types ??????

I was watching one of those wild video's shows a few nights ago and there was a lady truck driver that got her truck on the railroad tracks and an Amtrack hit the trailer at what looked like about 60 mile per hour. That's the only thing I can think of that getting hit with one of those comes close to. You really should have set an 06 round next to one of those to show just how massive that case really is.

That's a massive round. I think it might rattle any deers fillings you shoot. It certainly would make good Grizzly/Kodiak medicine up there around Homer. I'd use a lead sled to sight that critter in with. Just one question, does putting a brake on those big bores help? I had my 8mm Rem magnaported when I lived up there and it helped, but, that was a fairly high velocity round compared to what your shooting.

I seriously pity your shoulder and whatever is in the way of a bullet fired by that.

How well does the sabot round shoot?

The biggest thing that strikes me is the lack of porting or brake on the barrel! How much did that gun cost you?

At what point is it no longer a bullet, and becomes a missile?:D

How much did this gun cost you? Id like to have one myself, maybe with some porting tho.

what kind of trajectory does that 700 gr. provide?
'Quote',My wife thinks I am compensating for something since all my firearms are big bore types ??????

Kinda one of those situations where words fail me. Bob said, "I think it might rattle any deers fillings you shoot. I'd use a lead sled to sight that critter in with." I'd say it would rattle my fillings and I'd carry the lead sled in the field!"

You recently posted a "Grizzly hunt" picture of how you carried your S&W 500 revolver on a hunt, is the rifle in that picture the Cyrus?
