Will trigger locks fit on a levergun? I have never tried, but i don't have a gunsafe anymore and need a way to lock my rifle up. Its for the gun in my signature.

Thanks.

I don't know about the trigger locks and a lever gun, but you certainly could run a cable lock thru the loading port and the open action to disable the firearm.

I am in police stations, city halls and courthouses frequently and I have seen several signs offering free gun locks.

Why on earth would you want a trigger lock? If you have a burning need to lock it to somthing use a bicycle cable lock through the lever and around the wrist.

Or if you want to practice a little critical thinking you might consider that sometimes it needs to be locked up. For example... I am in the Air Force. I live in a dorm. I cannot keep my rifle in the dorms with me. A family in town has been nice enough to sponsor me and has offered to let me keep my rifle at their house. However, since they have young visitors (nieces and nephews and such) and nobody in the house is familiar with firearms, they have asked me to keep it locked.

Think more. Talk less.

Could it be as simple as a plastic zip tie around the wrist and lever loop?

I realize a knife or wire cuters will foil this but it certainly is cheap and easy and does offer protection. That and keeping the ammunition elsewhere or locked up will make it hard to accidentally discharge the rifle.

Just trying to use the KISS principal (Keep it simple Silly)

I Think I now what I'm talking about - and I'm certainly Thinking.

Like I said - Use a short cable lock that runs through the lever and around the wrist. Run the cable through an eye-bolt screwed & epoxied into a stud.

Gun won't go anywhere and the lever won't be operable. An Unloaded tube goes without saying.

But IMO triggerlocks are a dangerous waste of time - especially on a levergun. (Critical Thinking - a trigger lock functions by attaching itself to the trigger guard... which on a levergun moves. Work the lever, pop goes the trigger lock.)

BTW: When I was in the Service, I kept my firearms in my Barracks Arms Room - to be checked out at will.

How about a hard case that locks?

My apologies to all. I realize now that I didn't quite understand what you meant before, Old Ironsights.

Hello FODzilla.
Trigger locks will not work correctly(if you can get them to work at all) they are made for use on a gun with a fixed trigger guard.
P.M. me with your address and I will send you a lock and instructions how to use it for your levergun.

Thank you for Serving.

Is the gun in question a Marlin? If it is just remove the bolt. If it isn't then all you can do is cable lock it through the lever and around the stock.
