Wanted to jump in and say howdy. I'm a new guy thats only been shooting for about 5 months, but I've already put about 200 rounds through my .50 Kentucky flintlock. Looking forward to picking the brain of the more knowledgeable members here!

I've never shot a flintlock so can't help you there much, but we've got a bunch of black powder shooters here and they probably can help you out if you get in a pickle with any kind of problem.

Waxahachie, what an odd name. When I was trucking I hauled a truckload of something into there, but for the life of me I can't remember what it was. Is there a big insulation plant there? I can remember hauling plastic wrap for insulation into a plant somewhere around there. I used to get thru Dallas/Ft. Worth a lot. I worked for Swift and we had a terminal up by the football stadium. That's pretty country in the spring.

It's close to where I-35 splits into the east and west sections, south of Dallas/Fort Worth.

Yup, I had to look it up on Streets and Trips. I still can't remember for sure what I hauled into there, but after running 3000 miles a week year after year it all becomes kind of blurred.

Howdy back at ya!

Rule 1- Safety first!
Rule 1a- Never allow youself to be distracted when loading.
Rule 2- Measured powder always goes in before the ball.
Rule 3- Never leave the ram rod in the bore.

Other than that, the rest is all technical stuff I can bore you tears with.

And make sure you put the nipple back in your priming horn before you shoot. I found that our the hard way.
