Why can't you reload wolf brass? I picked up a ton of 223 at the pit the other day.

If it's brass, and Boxer-primed, there's no reason you can't. If it's steel and Berdan primed, as most of it is, you can theoretically reload it but to do so requires special tools and is a major pain in the butt.

If it's got a dark green lacquer coating on it, check it out with a magnet.

Wouldn't waste my time with it - we just collect it and throw it in the dumpster at the gunrange.

Never heard of anyone reloading it. Suppose you could if you had a Berdan decapping tool and some dies that would stand up to the steel case reworking. Unsure how many reloads you would get from reworked steel, though.

Need to watch out for those cases that have a copper or brass plating on them, too. Both Wolf and S&B are doing that with steel cases now.

These cases are boxer primed. I think i've got about 150 or so. But I don't need them so I guess I'll chuck them.

Some of the wolf cases are boxer primed. They at least have a single centered flash hole but I'm not sure if they use boxer dimensions on their primers. They are laquered steel cases, none I've seen were brass. I've never tried running 'em through my reloading dies and don't think I wanna try.
