You can go to www.Hodgdon.com (http://www.Hodgdon.com) for this kind of info. They list a 75 gr bullet with varget, starting & max load.

<TABLE cellSpacing=2 cellPadding=2 width="100%" border=0><TBODY><TR class=altrow><TD class=mini align=middle>75 GR. JLK VLD</TD><TD class=mini align=middle></TD><TD class=mini align=middle>Varget </TD><TD class=mini align=middle>.224" </TD><TD class=mini align=middle>2.250" </TD><TD class=mini align=middle>22.5gr </TD><TD class=mini align=middle>2693fps </TD><TD class=mini align=middle>40,600 CUP </TD><TD class=mini align=middle>25.0gr </TD><TD class=mini align=middle>2907fps </TD><TD class=mini align=middle>48,400 CUP </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

You'll have a hard time fitting the max load's powder into the case, and still have room to seat the bullet.

yes we are shooting the minimum load listed now i just wasnt shure if that load was what hornady had published. i didnt know if all 75 grain bullets would be the same

Not all bullets are created equal......if you are loading near minimum just watch for pressure signs as you come up. Hornady pushes them rather fast to the best of my recollection and pretty darn accurate in a 1/9.

I shoot a Savage 12 With a 1 n 9 in .223 and I load that exact bullet and powder @ 26.5gr and touching the lands. This is a pretty hot load but shoots very very well. I did work this load up from 23gr watching for pressure closly but seems to be OK. Hope this helps, Joe
