fellas, have finished up getting this old pre-64 .06 up and running. A good buy in junk shape for 75.00 a yr or so back-action and barrel was still good. Anyways I have reloaded 220 gr. Partitions up and with a Redfield 70 rear peep I have set my point of aim @ 100yds approx. 2" high with RL22. Out of them now for reloading and have set store by 20 rounds. The 200 TSX has been on my shelf for some time and I do have Viht. N-560 and am looking for a starting load. I am hoping I can safely presume 56 or 57 grn. for initial loading and attempt to get 2650-2680fps with them(TSX) when all is done.

what do you figure for N-560? I noted in the past that MRP and RL 22 are about in the same league and 560 abit faster to the above 2 powders. I understand that the "high energy" powders achieve good velocities with somewhat lesser pressures although case fill is close to or above 100% case fill.

any experiences with the 560 here?

regards,

The VihtaVuori manual calls for 55.1 gr of N560 as a start load for a 190 gr bullet and 62.4 gr as max.

A 220 gr RN starts at 53.5 gr and max is 61.3 gr.

According to their burn rate chart, N560 is closer to RL-19, being a tad slower than the RL-19.

thanks kdub, the only burn chart I have observed thus far was from the reloading bench site-knowing all charts are not the same my post was in general.

Okay, the charge rate you gave confirms my guess. Appreciate the help.
