Hello,

Looking for help on reloading some blanks in 45-70 for my son, who will be in charge of a shooting range in southern Id. this summer at a scout camp. I have dies and all necessary equip. to complete the loads, just need some info on load data.

This can be potentially very dangerous. Commercial blank cartridges are made with a special powder that burns quickly without being confined. NEVER use smokeless powder to make homemade blanks. If you must make blanks then use a small charge of fffg black powder and top it with a single card wad. Never more than one wad. With all blanks be aware that when fired up close, they can be lethal.

Also don't use blank powder for a ball round.
When I was a kid,I tried to make a rocket out of a 30'06 case filled with pink blank powder and capped with a wad of plastic wood.
The thing was a miniture pipe bomb.I got a quarter inch piece of shrapnel in my inner thigh.
A step closer would have been really bad news for me.

mtmrolla and Kragman71,

Thanks for the info and good advice on the blank loads. Think I will pass on trying this type of load.
