The 2 new (new to me) M-29-2s needed to be check out in the accuracy department to determine if I had struck gold or not, and I think I have.
After a brief sight in at 35 yards. I decided to find out if I could hit a Starbucks coffee cup at 100 yards with either revolver.I set the cup out and drove to where I thought 100 yards would be. I lasered the distance and got 105 yards, close enough. The revolver that chrono'ed the slowest shot rather high even with the rear sight bottomed as low as it would go. The other one shot to point of aim at the close distance.
Here is the set target through my camera with a 12X optical zoom;

The view with no zoom;

I shot the M-29 that chrono'ed the slowest first and my first shot was to the left, next shot , was to the left, my third shot hit the cup.

I reset the target and attempted to do the same with the other revolver. My first shot was low, my second shot was low, my third shot was low, my fourth shot again was low, all the time I am making slight aiming adjustments. Now for my fifth shot, I align the sight and with all of my concentration I break the trigger. Amazingly I hit the cup.

I just nicked it, but a hit none the less;

All in all I am extremely pleased with these 2 M-29s

Also I replaced the Hogue grips on the M-29 that came with them to these

These fill my hand better and allows me better control and I am able to shoot more precisely.

I cut fine lines in my front sight of my 6.5 inch 29 and inlaid thin brass wire for the 100 yard and 150 yard mark for the hunting load I used. If you don't have the red insert in the front sight you can do the same thing with a red insert kit from Brownell's. Just mark your hundred yard position on the sight and when you cut the slot for the insert make the bottom of the insert at the hundred yard sighting position. The top of the sight on mine was set for 50 yards.

This was for a 255 grain gas check cast bullet at 1350 fps out of my 6.5 inch barrel.

Looks like you've ended up with a couple of dandy 29's. My eyes are way to gone now to shoot at anything that small and that far away with an open sighted revolver.

Bob my eyes certainly aren't what they once were. I am not able to see well up close so I use a pair of weak reading glasses to clear up the sights and just aim at the blur..

Jwp, you can do one of two things. Add a tiny bit more powder to the slow gun loads or reduce the fast gun loads so both match closer. Of course loads need to be kept separate. Then the sights will be closer.
Another reason is if one groups tighter at a certain velocity, making the other the same velocity will improve the groups from it too.
