is it ok? i cant seem to find any .400 dia bullets to load with and thats what my book tells me to use :/

Jacketed or cast? I don't load the .40 S&W, but .45 ACP cast bullets are usually .001" oversize compared to jacketed bullets. You don't want to shoot undersized cast bullets.

I don't load for the 40S&W, but I do load for the .400 Corbon which uses the same 10mm bullets and have measured some at .401". No problem. One author, writing in the current issue of Handloader, stated that he sizes his cast bullets to .401" for use in his 40 S&W.
